R.C.I.A.

There is a reference to the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults under sacraments. Anyone who is contemplating the possibility of joining the Catholic Church will attend these weekly sessions beginning in October and concluding a few weeks after Easter.

R.C.I.C.

The Rite of Christian Initiation for Children - a parallel program to the R.C.I.A. – is a nine month program to acquaint children who are at the “age of reason” – age 7 or 8 – in the understanding of the Catholic Church, in particular the Sacraments of Initiation which they receive at the end of the study at Easter.
