Goals and Objectives
St. Thomas Food Pantry follows the mandate of St. Matthew Chapter 25 “To feed the hungry” by offering food to the needy of St. Thomas Parish and residents of Peoria Heights (61616).
Who we’re looking for
Compassionate men or women who would be free pantry hours and can lift grocery bags full of food to dispense to clients. Also, able-bodied people with a truck or van to assist in going and picking up food for the pantry when needed.
We are funded by St. Vincent DePaul Society through 1st Sunday of the month collections in church and private donations. In addition, food drives benefit our supply. These are conducted by St. Thomas School, Peoria Notre Dame High School, Confirmation classes, Boy Scouts, etc. We get a donation once a month from MidWest Food Bank.
Call or email Tom Horstmann 309-685-1158 [email protected] to sign up for food distribution or to help with shopping/food bank.
Volunteers serve the clients every Monday and Thursday. Pantry is open 9 to 11 am. Volunteers arrive 8:45 am and leave when shelves are stocked after last client.
