Goals and Objectives
Haiti Mission Connection’s goal is to provide moral, spiritual and financial assistance to the people of Haiti in the area known as Sud-Est in and around the village of Bodarie. This is currently done by supporting a clean water filtration program, a medical clinic, and teachers at the school.
Who we’re looking for
Haiti Mission Connection utilizes all age groups, except for children, and both women and men. If someone is interested in traveling to Haiti with the group, there are other qualifications that need to be met.
Haiti Mission Connection, Inc. has a monthly board meeting, a plant sale in April, a table at the Moss Avenue Sale in June, a Wine Tasting and dinner in June, Simple Suppers during Lent, a breakfast at the parish in the Fall, at least one trip down to Haiti, coffee and vanilla sales and informational presentations from time to time.
One way to get involved is to come to a board meeting and get caught up to speed on what is going on with the group. Another way to get you involved is to visit our website (www.haitimissionconnection.org) and fill out a volunteer questionnaire. We are always looking for new volunteers to help at sales, come up with fundraising ideas, help maintain our website, pack for trips, doing outreach in regards to Haiti. There are opportunities for all types of different volunteer work.
You may contact Sheldon Schaffer at 682-1876 or any of our contacts on our website, any of our board of directors.
Time commitments in Haiti Mission Connection range from a couple hours a year to a couple hours a week. It depends on what degree you would like to help out. There is no set limit on a minimum or a maximum amount of time needed to volunteer.
