Goals and Objectives
Contemplative prayer is a prayer practice consisting of sitting quietly with eyes closed for a period of time. One chooses a sacred word, and by repeating it, thoughts are let go and we rest in God in our inner room. This is a prayer of receptivity, openness to God, and of letting God work in the silence of our hearts. This prayer stems from the early Christian traditions practiced by the early desert men and women. This group meets at 8:30 am on Monday mornings in old church basement.
